Head of Operations
What's the Role?
We’re looking for a data-driven, results-oriented Head of Operations to join the team and help build and scale our company. As Head of Operations, you will drive value by leading the company’s business operations, culture, and supporting a wide range of strategic initiatives. You’ll have the business maturity to set ambitious goals and the intellectual horsepower to derive deep, data-driven insights that will help us realize those goals.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the effort to build a scalable operations infrastructure that will support a fast-growing, complex business.
- Working to meticulously operationalize all business processes by analyzing and refining existing processes and optimizing for scale.
- Developing mechanisms to identify and track key business metrics. Building reports that can be used to explain the business operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Managing performance towards KPI targets and providing thought leadership on how to refine and continuously optimize operations.
- Proactively identifying opportunities to highlight business results and establishing visibility through business intelligence reporting and analysis. You possess the ability to go "deep" into the data/analytics to uncover the key trends/insights and develop action-oriented recommendations to drive profitable growth.
- Developing a thorough understanding of insurance and our customer base in order to identify and model new opportunities to enhance operational processes with the customer in mind.
- Partnering with key stakeholders and leading strategic projects that transform the way we operate and fuel business growth, using best practices for operational excellence.
- Building, managing, and leading a team performing day-to-day operational functions. You will work with vendors and other third parties to ensure the tools and infrastructure needed to run the day-to-day operations of the company are in place.
- Collaborating with Product, Sales, Engineering, and all other areas of the organization to ensure business readiness and knowledge transfer for any new processes or products.
- Building strong capabilities within the operational teams to ensure a seamless transition from project execution to production.
- Driving the escalation of issues, coordinating key resources in the escalation process, and project managing all issues until resolution.

You'll be a great fit if you:
- 10+ years of progressive experience and demonstrated growth in Business Operations roles.
- Have experience building processes from scratch in high-growth startup (InsurTech and/or FinTech experience a plus).
- Posses a strong background establishing current state operational support process models and providing process improvement/redesign.
- Have exceptional project management, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Show an exceedingly high level of integrity, leadership, and teamwork in interactions across all levels of the organization.
- Are an excellent communicator who seeks broader input and provides feedback in order to gain consensus across the organization; open to constructive criticism and new ideas.
- Are a data-driven approach to creating, assessing, and altering processes.
- Have a passion for building cross-functional teams and developing people, and helping them when they need it most.
- Demonstrate high technical acumen along with sound judgment and high character.
- Have an deep understanding of risk and compliance related issues impacting businesses in the insurance sector.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, situational awareness and emotional intelligence with a natural ability to adapt in a rapidly growing environment.
- Have a strong preference for a transparent and collaborative working environment.
- Are thirsty for knowledge and continuous improvement, both personally and professionally.
- Have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field. MBA strongly preferred.
